Ambassador Gaidys presented his credentials to the King of Cambodia
On 12 January, the Ambassador to Singapore, Darius Gaidys, presented his credential letters to the King of Cambodia, His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, at an official ceremony at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
King Norodom Sihamoni congratulated the Ambassador and his escort, conveying his best wishes to the representatives of the Government and the people of Lithuania, and expressing his admiration for Lithuania's history of statehood and the nation's strength. The newly appointed Ambassador of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Gaidys, thanked the King for his warm welcome and briefly presented his plans aimed at strengthening the ties between the Republic of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Cambodia, including those regarding the increase in cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, digitalisation, science, and education.
During his days-long visit to the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, Ambassador Gaidys will meet with Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Chring Botumrangsay, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nhim Khemara, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and the Heads of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the National Assembly, and the Senate's Foreign Affairs Committees and visit the EU Delegation and the EuroCham Cambodia.
The Kingdom of Cambodia is the sixth country to which Ambassador Gaidys is accredited. The Ambassador, who resides in Singapore, is also accredited to Malaysia, Vietnam, the Kingdom of Thailand, Indonesia, and the regional grouping - the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
