Ambassador Zykas presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands

On October 13, Ambassador Aurelijus Zykas presented his credentials to Dr. Hilda C. Heine, President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

During meetings with the President of the Marshall Islands, ministers, and members of the Council of Traditional Chiefs (Irooj), the Ambassador emphasized the need for like-minded countries to work together in defending a world where even the smallest states have the right to be free, sovereign, and preserve their territorial integrity in today's new geopolitical reality. He thanked the Marshall Islands for its support for Ukraine in UN voting and highlighted Lithuania’s achievements, including its advances in digitalization and high-tech industries.

Further meetings are scheduled this week with the Marshall Islands' Ministers of Education and Culture, government and education representatives, as well as Marshallese and foreign diplomats.

This marks Lithuania’s third accreditation in the Micronesian region. Last year, the Ambassador presented his credentials to the President of the Federated States of Micronesia, and this summer to the President of Palau.
