Lithuania and Japan strengthen cooperation in the space sector

On 5 May, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Vidmantas Verbickas met with Dr. Masami Onoda, Director of the International Relations and Research Department at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), to discuss cooperation with one of the world's leading space agencies.

"Japan is a priority market for Lithuania's space sector. We are ready to develop practical cooperation in a targeted way and to exploit the potential of both countries, which is open to new opportunities thanks to two agreements signed last year by the Innovation Agency in Japan on closer cooperation in space: with Japan’s national space agency (JAXA) and an Open Innovation Platform for the Space Business “Cross U,," said the Vice-Minister Verbickas.

On 6 May, Dr. Masami Onoda will participate in the Vilnius Space Days, which have been organised for the fourth year.
